Hazmat Testing

Testing performed to meet 49CFR, IATA, ICAO, IMDG and other regulations in order to certify packages for shipping hazardous materials.

ISTA Testing

Testing performed to ISTA standards to show that with proper handling your product should safely make it to its destination without damage.

ASTM Testing

Testing performed to ASTM standards designed to test the performance of both the packaging and the product during shipment.

Specialized Testing

Testing to procedures requested by your company, we will work with you to achieve your packaging and shipping goals.

ISTA Testing

Packaging Design & Testing LLC is ISTA Member ST-2009. We have the equipment to perform ISTA Series 1 and Series 2 Testing. We do not have Random Vibration capability at this time, so we cannot perform Series 3 Testing.

ISTA 1 Series: Non-Simulation Integrity Performance Tests. Challenge the strength and robustness of the product and package combination.

  • 1A – For packaged products weighing 150 lbs or less
  • 1B – For packaged products weighing over 150 lbs
  • 1C – Extended testing for individual packaged products weighing 150 lbs or less
  • 1D – Extended testing for individual packaged products weighing over 150 lbs

ISTA 2 Series: Partial Simulation Integrity Performance Tests. Tests with atmospheric conditioning as a general simulation performance test.

  • 2A – For packaged products weighing 150 lbs or less
  • 2B – For packaged products weighing over 150 lbs
  • 2D – For packaged products considered flat
  • 2E – For packaged products considered elongated
