About Us
Established in 1972, Packaging Design & Testing LLC started out as a packaging manufacturer. Making mostly wood crates and boxes used for shipping many types of products all over the world.
In 1990, PDT ventured into the world of package testing. Some of our customers had a need for testing packages for shipping hazardous materials. PDT was approved as UN Third Party Certification Agency +AV and conducted testing as required by the 49CFR (Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49).
In 1995, PDT became involved with NSTA (National Safe Transit Association) as a testing laboratory. NSTA is now known as ISTA (International Safe Transit Association). ISTA uses common package testing procedures to protect consumer products from damage during transportation. There are many different structured series of tests depending on the packaging and transportation requirements of the shipment. PDT is proud to be a member and a certified ISTA test laboratory.
We no longer manufacture packaging at PDT, but our experience in the packaging industry allows us to help you to cost effectively protect your products. We strive to make our community safe by ensuring that dangerous goods and hazardous materials are shipped in properly approved packaging.
In 2009, PDT joined ASTM with the hopes of being actively involved with the standardization of our testing procedures and guidelines.
Packaging Design & testing is a family based company with customer service as a number one priority. We understand you as a customer have a product which you need to sell in order to do business. We are here to help you get that product out to your customers safely and efficiently.
