Established in 1972, Packaging Design & Testing LLC started out as a packaging manufacturer.  Making mostly wood crates and boxes used for shipping many types of products all over the world.

In 1990 the United States Department of Transportation started enforcing regulations on the transportation of hazardous materials.  PDT invested in the equipment necessary to test these packages as per the 49CFR (Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49).  It was approved as a Hazardous Material Test Laboratory and is now referred to as UN Third Party Certification Agency +AV.

In 1995 PDT got involved with NSTA (National Safe Transit Association) as a testing laboratory.  NSTA is now known as ISTA (International Safe Transit Association.)  ISTA uses common package testing in a structured sequence to test the integrity of the packaging to protect the product from damage during transportation.  There are many different structured series of tests which depend on the packaging and transportation requirements.  PDT is proud to be a member and certified test laboratory for ISTA.

We no longer manufacture packaging here at PDT, but we have the knowledge and experience to help you protect your product during transportation.  Also we strive to make our community safe by protecting them from the dangers of transporting hazardous materials.
